‘Kinner Kailash’ is considered winter residence of Lord Shiva. It is said that Lord Shiva conduct a meeting of all Devi-Devtas on Kinner Kailash Top in month of January. A person has to take yatra to the Top of Kinner Kailash & also do the parikarma. Where is it & How to go:- It is situated in district Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh at 20 thousand feet above see level. Kinner Kailash Top Yatra by foot starts from village Puari. To reach Puari Travel form Shimla via Narkands, Rampur, Juari, Zakhari Power Project, Karchham to Rikongpeu(District H.Q. of Kinnaur District). Puari is 7 km before the Rekongpeu.
Kinner Kailash Parikarma:- You have to get permit form Rikongpue D.C office for this yatra, from Rikangpue to Thangi, Lamber & then to Charang(Last Village) village road is there. Form Charang village travel on foot. This yatra goes to Lalanti (15 km, Night Stay in tent). Lalanti to Chitkul ( 20 km) after crossing Charang Pass . Chitkul is well connected by road to Shimla.
When to go:- Every year near Janmashtami Himachali do Parikrama & go to Top of Kinner Kailash. you are advised to travel at this time.
Luggage:- Woollens, Sweater, Warm Jacket, Rain Coat, Gloves, Torch, Sports Shoes, Woolen Shocks, Woolen cap, Muffler, Goggles and Stick etc. are required.
Important:- This yatra is very difficult. Have your health check-up first . Kinner Kailash Yatra should not travel without guide & porter.
